Royal Sushi & Izakaya — Omakase Bar and Back Extension Buildout

Queen Village, Philadelphia

We were engaged by Chef Jesse Ito and the team at Royal Sushi & Izakaya to remanufacture, adapt, and improve the counter for their intimate back Omakase bar, located behind the main Izakaya dining room in Queen Village. The goal was to refine the existing bar structure—enhancing its craftsmanship, durability, and functionality—while maintaining the warm, personal atmosphere that defines the Omakase experience.

Along with the bar upgrade, we fabricated custom shelving to support service and presentation in this exclusive dining space.

A few months later, as part of a building extension off the back of the restaurant, we returned to design and build banquette seating that matched the aesthetic of the front dining room. The built-in seating not only maximized comfort and capacity in the new space but also felt like a natural extension of the restaurant’s character and atmosphere.

Together, these improvements support both the operational flow and guest experience that have made Royal Sushi & Izakaya a standout in Philadelphia’s dining scene.
